How I Knew My Best Friends Relationship Was Over 2 Years Before It Actually Ended

There wasn’t anything to be said, I just had to watch it happen.

You know that scenario where two of your friends from completely separate groups start dating each other? This was one of those.

My good friend (and co-worker at the time, we’ll call her Maggie) started dating one of my husband's really good friends (we’ll call him Andrew) after they were introduced at one of our parties.

Now typically, this is a dream situation. When it goes right.

The hangouts were frequent and there were double dates aplenty and for a while, I actually thought they had both found their person.

That was when it happened.

I couldn’t believe it.

It was like watching a car accident happen right in front of me and even in slow motion, there was nothing I could do to stop it.

He lied. He straight up lied. Knowing full well that 3 of the 4 people at that table knew the truth. Roping us in and basically forcing us to lie to her as well.

“Did you ever sleep with her?”

An awkward question that no one wants to answer, especially when it’s in reference to someone that Andrew knew Maggie strongly disliked.
